ISRO Chandrayaan-3 Launch updates: July 14 to be ‘etched in golden letters’, says PM Modi

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is set to launch its third lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-3. It will lift off on Friday at 2.35 pm on a Launch Vehicle Mark-3 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The propulsion module will carry the lander and rover up to a 100 km lunar orbit.

The countdown for the Chandrayaan-3 mission began on Thursday. The 26-hour countdown began at 1:05 p.m. Chandrayaan-3 consists of an indigenous lander module, a propulsion module, and a rover. Its goals include the development and demonstration of new technologies needed for interplanetary missions.

The third part of the lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, is scheduled to take off from Sriharikota today. The objective of the six-wheeled lander and rover module of this lunar mission series is configured with a payload that would provide the scientific community with data on lunar soil and rock properties, including chemical and elemental compositions.

The countdown for India's ambitious moon mission, Chandrayaan 3, was "progressing" to a scheduled launch at 2.35 pm on Friday, the Indian Space Research Organization said.
